Great weather for runnin. 6x1000 w/ 90sec jog rest (349;346;344;340;350;338). That penultimate fella was over the overpass on Abbott Drive. Slowed me a bit and messed up my progression. I gotta work on those hills.

Today's Hansons agenda: 3 x 1600. 2.5 warmup on the West track. 3 x 1600: 5:52/5:48/5:43 (avg. 5:48) w/ 6 min (1000m) easy jogging between. Cool down on xc course. Pretty tough workout. Stiff breeze on the backstretch after morning thunderstorm and heavy rain. Still feeling Sunday's race but pleased with the effort.

Great running weather until the last half mile. Felt pretty good for the first 2.5, then the tendon starting barking so I slowed down. With a half mile to go there was a very close lighting strike which made me forget everything else and I really picked up the pace. The second strike was only about a block away - too close!

Not bad out there this morning! Felt like running in one of those fan misters and it helped shorten my recovery intervals which was nice. 3x1200-400 this morning. Usually this summer it's been my breathing that's slowed me down first but today I felt it in my legs. Still pretty happy with the workout. Made it up to 3 miles of intervals and ended with my fastest 400 of the summer.

30 min of core. Really tired this morning. I think alllll that time on my feet (:/) Sunday is catching up with me. Plus, standing for 3 hours at the CC meet yesterday was a little tricky. Molly had good results though! She finished third overall. Second Fr/So. Added a bit of time, but she tells me this is normal for a Monday meet. (?) I was happy because she was ear to ear grins the whole time she was there. Loving the team. I asked her if she is ready to thank me yet for making her do it--she grinned and said, "Nope!" Little twerp.

Sooooo, my water heater decided to kick the bucket. Nothing like a cold shower to wake you up in the morning. Gracie said no one should be forced to live this way. #princess

Happy Tuesday.

It was quite damp out. Planned on 7ish. Turned around at 3.75 and started picking up the pace. This route makes it a bit difficult to keep pace in spots because there are a lot of turns and small ups and downs but it felt pretty good. 7:31, 7:09, 7:02, 7:00. Probably didn't truly decide on the tempo until a little bit into the first mile so overall it was pretty consistent.

I am thrilled beyond belief to have gotten tickets to see Ramblin' Jack Elliot in Cleveland on the evening following my race! Ramblin' Jack is a true folk music icon, pioneering the movement with Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan. He influenced Guy Clark, Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Jerry Jeff Walker, and a cast of thousands. Sings with a lonesome whine and can fingerpick with the best of 'em. A storyteller extraordinaire, they don't call him "Ramblin" because he travels around...

Song of the day: "Diamond Joe" by Ramblin' Jack Elliot.
