Back into the Sarpy hills. From Springfield, 3 mi on the MoPac then Buffalo Rd, 180th and Pflug with a mile to finish on the trail. Big rollers the whole way and averaged 7:25 for middle 7. Just feel so much stronger at the finish than I did 2 months ago. Still a couple niggles (groin, hip, butt) that seem to come and go throughout but not really slowing me.

Matt, Greg, and I welcomed back our long lost friend, Carolyn. Made my month. :) She's been hurt, and still is, but she said she just needed back out there. So happy to have her back. I still see her a bunch, but there's just something about the people you run with......ahh, you all know. :) Coffee and tons of laughs at Meadowlark to follow.

So, Molly got home from Districts about 10 last night. Talked til 11. East girls just are so strong. First place. On to State. Coach pulled Molly and three other top JV aside after the meet yesterday. One Varsity girl is out with shin splints. He needs one more girl for State. He will decide by Tuesday. :-O

Ventured off the bike path and spooked a decent sized buck with a pretty good rack hanging out by a USDA office building. When I came back he was in the exact same spot, got spooked again, and hoped off to the same spot. I also unwittingly made my turnaround point close to a Lamars Donuts. I could smell them from a quarter mile away. I did take a detour on my way to work to pick one up.

Out enjoying the cool temps and full moon. A few coyotes early, no owl or coins. Congrats to the Pirate girls XC team as well as Ben for making it to the state meet. Also congrats to Seth and the East Spartan girls for running away with their districts. Looking forward to next Friday. Hopefully today is the last day for the cleanup in the basement. Woke Monday to a wet floor as the water heater gave out. Could have been worse if it had happened while we were gone over the weekend. Enjoy your Friday.
