Still trying to figure out these dang fancy treadmills. GMP for miles 3-4-5-6, I know I hit my times while I ran them, but for the life of me, couldn't figure out how to glean that info from the machine. So much math filling my brain today! I was giving one of the high school students who was in the weight room equations, too bad she wasn't there at the end to help me with the technology, too! Glute is feeling great when I run and I'm grateful for that.

Omaha [20170125]: Conoco Turnover

Packed for mill or outside; global warming let me opt outside.

So, I opened up the restrictor plates a bit, got in some turnover work doing loops at Conoco Park over there back behind the Mac Donald's.

6 loops of the park total, 5 contained a fast/sprint interval; good job, Carl.

Does anyone have experience with essential oils? My sister in law is a doctor of naturopathy and has influenced my wife to buy the starter oil kit. She (the sister in law) is pretty educated about the topic. She appeals to the "scientist" in me as well as logic. Her basic premise is that Americans have fantastic healthcare, but poor wellness. I agree 100%. She also believes most drugs were naturally compounded, so the oils make some sense too.

HOWEVER, I think the Young Living business model almost completely delegitimizes the product. AMway, Mary Kay, Baskets, Pampered Chef, etc...

What I disagree with most is her diagnosis of me. My "energy" reveals to her that I'm stressed (maybe true, but nothing like 2 or 4 years ago), and that I have difficulty communicating what I want. She has me taking:

Lime Oil
Super B
Vitamin C
Vitamin E
Juvatone
A digestive enzyme
Multivitamin

Opinions? Am I getting anything more than the placebo effect, or is it just $1/day for expensive pee?
  • OldPWolf OldPWolf Your story resonates with me. I am at loss in this area as well. I looked into an Advocare opportunity a few years ago but the whole pushy sales pitch turned me off. I still use the product and believe it a key part of staying healthy in my 50s.
