New PR and a BQ. There was a pretty good difference of almost a minute between my official time and my watch so I'm now quite sure what to make of that. Pretty course but lots of banks in the road plus a bit of rolling hills for most of the first 20 miles. Not many cheering sections so it stays pretty quiet. Rain, sleet and headwinds at Mile 23 sucked. I got a bit demoralized when a guy dribbling a basketball passed me somewhere in the middle miles. Fortunately I passed him later. Post race got some stretching and massage pretty quickly and headed back to my hotel early. Not a lot of appetite post but the shower felt great. Long travel day back to Fort Collins. Didn't get home until almost 11 PM. All in all, I approached this as a business trip so I probably didn't get quite the joy out of the race that I should have but I'm still quite happy with the result.

I slept, literally, three hours, max. Post race restlessness. Just a great day. Although the race was super hard I thought. Anyway, me, Matt, Tom, and Ben at 6am for some long stuff. Diehards. :) Felt surprisingly ok. Now? Getting stiffer by the second. Great start to the morning with the guys. So proud of Ben. Huge success again. And proud of my Matt, too! He tried so hard to catch me. It was a brutal day, weather-wise, to race. I said to the guys, "What if Lincoln is like this, all wind and hottness??" Their answer? Zip it. Enjoy your big PR and shut up and run. :) Ok.
