Race started 20 min late (race director was not happy). Got a bit chilly standing around in shorts and singlet. Brenda told me not to start too fast, like I usually do in this race, so I started a bit conservatively. Tired legs but used my strength to keep it together and run very even splits accounting for uphills and downhills. Overall very happy with results given my racing fitness and recent mileage.

Turkey got a 10 minute head start. 3 lap race. Caught him shortly into the 3rd lap, also shortly after the college xc runner finally decided to take off. Glad he put me out of my misery quickly. $5 entry fee and I went home with a $25 ham for beating the turkey. My daughter's were going to do the mile but ended up in the 2 mile and were running pretty strong when I lapped them. My wife was a little worried when they disappeared.

Well some people have to work on Thanksgiving, and it might as well be me. Headed out nice and early. Felt pretty good on this cool crisp morning. I was sad I missed the guys on their group run today, but was able to honk a Hello! to those turkeys as I was cruising to work.
