TWO washouts led to ONE creek crossing (and some shoes attempting to dry on the hotel AC unit); second washout had signs saying not to try and cross when underwater.

For once I listened. ;)

sometimes I wish my Girl Cave workouts counted as a mile or two running. :)

Another good weights/core workout. Some HIIT stuff involved. They saw it's important to lift weights after turning 50. :)

Cross Country meet for today was kind of up in the air because of the rain here and this golf course won't let us run on it if it's raining. I didn't want to not get a run in today if we did end up having it, so just did a few miles in case I'd have to run with the kids after school. And that's what I'll be doing. Meet got canceled at 8:15 this morning. Really pretty bummed about this. Can't control the weather though.

For those of you on my facebook and IG, you may have read this news, but I nominated Duane Wilken, our Bloomfield head cross country and track coach for the US Cellular Most Valuable Coach award. This spanned 25 states in their coverage area, and he was selected as one of the final 50 coaches. If he makes it into the top 15, our school will get $5000. There were 3 coaches from Nebraska who made the final 50. I was only given 2000 characters to write a nomination for him which was very, very hard to do because this man has impacted myself and so many in a lot of different ways even beyond coaching. I wasn't even one of his athletes in high school because I went to another school 20 miles away and yet I remember him cheering me around the track when I was a teen, and now it's a complete honor to be able to coach beside him and learn from him.

If you have a spare moment and would like to join our efforts in getting him voted into the top 15, you can find him listed in the top 20 coaches right now on www.themostvaluablecoach.com You can vote daily until October 8. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. He doesn't need an award like this to know that he's loved and appreciated and one of the best, but it is a pretty great honor.
  • getfuzzy getfuzzy boo on the weather. heavy rain here too all day. :(

Slept hardly zero last night. Still getting used to my New Normal. I’m such a creature of habit, that New usually throws me for a loop. It’ll happen. So, I decided to mix it up and do the Elliptical. Felt pretty good and went hard. Legs jello now. And now, tired. At work and after my 12 hour shift, I have a 2.5 hour IV class immediately following. Lord knows I need all five of my upcoming days off.

Have a great Thursday.
