CIM. Another bummer of a race for me out there. Figured it was one last shot to go for the Trials qualifier so I jumped in the pack and went for it. Lasted about 10 miles in the pack and I fell off the back. Hung on okay through 15 or so, then it went south. At that time I just wanted to finish it thinking I could still run well. Had some stomach/ab cramping issues that came on about every mile which I could still run through but had to slow down and every time I slowed down I couldn't get rolling again. The last 5k was ugly but I finished so that's a plus.

Not my fastest race, but certainly the most rewarding of my career. Never thought I'd be running again, let alone running a race with my daughter. Held her back early and we negative split, 12:00, 11:00, ~9:30. Reeled in about a hundred kids in the last mile. Alex loved that. It was the fastest I've run in about 4 years and it was brutally awesome. Very rewarding day. Changed my mug shot to savor the moment.

So I coordinated a little surprise run shindig for Matt's big day. About 12 people strong for two Sheridan Loops. First loop was quite the tempo. Second loop took it easy. So awesome of everyone to show. You mention donuts and people can't stay away. Matt was really quite smitten with the turnout. Great convo with some awesome people. Talked Blackout with Ben and Western States with Lottery Winner Kyle. Absolutely beautiful day to be out there! And shorts!! In December!! :D
